Beethoven's Wig 2 Wins Grammy Nomination

Beethoven's Wig 2, the sequel to the wildly popular Beethoven's Wig, won a Grammy nomination. This is one of 25 national awards that Beethoven's Wig has won over the past 2 years.

(PRWEB) December 9, 2004 -- Hold on to your wig! The National Academy for Recording Arts & Sciences, announced this week that Beethovens Wig 2: More Sing Along Symphonies has been nominated for a 2005 Grammy Award. This is the second Grammy nomination for Beethovens Wig, and one of 25 national awards for the recordings, available from Rounder Records.

As the follow-up to the highly acclaimed and Grammy Award nominated Beethovens Wig release, this new CD delivers 11 new songs with zany, stick-in-your-head lyrics that provide a fresh way to appreciate the greatest hits of classical music. From Dvorak to Verdi, and Chopin to Vivaldi, these Sing Along Symphonies" are a fun and easy way to introduce anyone to the joy of classical music.

Beethovens Wig is the brainchild of Richard Perlmutter, a father of three children who lives in Los Angeles. In October, the Billings Symphony hosted the world premier of the Beethovens Wig live show with a full symphony orchestra and operatic vocalists. Other live performances are in the works for 2005-06.

Each Beethovens Wig 2 Sing Along Symphony" offers a whimsical rendition of a familiar classical piece by the most beloved composers including Verdi, Brahms, Schubert, Chopin, Strauss and Dvorak. The songs provide lyrical and musical hooks about the composition or composer that help listeners remember each composer and piece. This new release pairs Perlmutters friendly voice with more background singers and childrens voices that encourage listeners to sing along.

Beethovens Wig and Beethovens Wig 2 are quite possibly the most-awarded childrens recordings ever released. The Sing Along Symphonies" were featured on NBCs Today" show and National Public Radios All Things Considered" with Susan Stamberg. US News & World Report said, The lyrics are truly hilarious;" Pulse magazine called it Brilliant, absolutely brilliant" and the Los Angeles Times recommended it as a laugh-out-loud album that pretty much guarantees that listeners will remember" the classical pieces.

Like its predecessor, the colorful CD package for Beethovens Wig 2 includes lyrics, trivia questions about the artists and musical pieces, and a thoughtful list of related activities for parents, educators and children to enjoy together. For more information, visit www.beethovenswig.com.
