Rodeo and Music Notables and Western Enthusiasts Enjoy The New Way To Access The West At Gilleys Dallas

Dallas, TX (PRWEB) December 14, 2004 -- Gold Buckle Network (GBN) (www.goldbucklenetwork.com) celebrated its official launch November 10 by hosting a number of Western sports and music stars at a Texas-sized party. Held at Gilleys Dallas and complete with huge digital video screens, Texas barbeque, and fun for all, the celebration marked the online programming networks public premier.

GBN introduced its innovative new Website, which allows anyone with a computer and an Internet connection to watch videos, listen to music, and shop for unique Western gifts. Among the attendees were rodeo cowboys Royce Ford, Jared Lavergne, and Cleo Hearn, as well as Western entertainer Tex Dunright. Also present were Country and Western music artists Art Greenhaw of The Light Crust Doughboys, the accomplished Trish Lynn, and exciting newcomer Cameron Coffey. Many other Western sports and entertainment professionals joined hundreds more at the GBN launch party.

"GBN is great news for the world of rodeo," said Mike Donnell of Donnell Rodeo Promotions in Pueblo, Colorado and manager of bareback riders Royce Ford and Jared Lavergne. "For the first time, rodeo fans can watch their favorite riders whenever they want right on their computers." Currently, Royce Ford ranks 5th in the 2004 Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association (PRCA) World Standings. Jared Lavergne began the season strong but was sidelined by an injury and will return to competition in 2005.

Art Greenhaw, leader of the Light Crust Doughboys and Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame member said, "There's a mystique about the American cowboy that fascinates the world." Greenhaw adds, "Bringing the cowboy culture to everyone over the Internet is the right idea at the right time. I'm looking forward to seeing the GBN become the biggest and best Western site in cyberspace."

According to In-Stat/MDR, a high-tech market research firm, the worldwide value of consumer-oriented video subscription services delivered via the Internet will grow to more than $4.6 billion by 2008. The In-Stat/MDR study also reported that this market is expanding to include more types of content while also extending its reach to Internet hot spots, wireless services, mobile phones, and portable media centers. In another recent study, the Online Publishers Association reported on November 15, 2004 that consumers in the United States alone spent $853 million for paid online content during the first half of 2004. According to the report, entertainment-related categories experienced the greatest gains and led an overall 14 percent year-over-year swell with subscription sales contributing 90 percent of paid content revenue.

GBN is leading the way in Internet-based content delivery by providing an online library of Western lifestyle video and music content for a global audience. GBN offers a TV-like experience on the Web. Visitors can watch classic western movies, music videos, rodeos, kids shows, hunting and fishing programs, horse training videos and more 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Cowboys of Color Rodeo Founder and 30-year Ford Motor Company retiree, Cleo Hearn, remarked "GBN is an entirely new opportunity for advertises who want to directly reach the millions of Western sports and lifestyle enthusiasts around the world." According to Hearn, "Companies are becoming aware that they can build stronger, more direct relationships with consumers through the Internet."

Video excerpts from the GBN launch party will be available in the "Videos" section at www.goldbucklemedia.com. Experience these and more on GBN, where you can watch videos and movies, listen to music, and shop for unique Western gifts.
