Promoting technology integration in the educational environment with Schools-On-I-Net. The December 8, 2004 seminar hosted by Westwood Public Schools, Westwood, NJ, proves that the age of paperless education is here….and it is easier than we thought to achieve.

(PRWEB) December 16, 2004 -- "I've enjoyed the seminar and was truly in awe of your program and what it offers. I'm hopeful that the Q&A was informative for everyone - it was certainly an eye-opener for me, as the ladies from Yavneh Academy...came on their own accord and spoke factually on their experience. It was impressive to hear their prospective on SOIN" - Lisa London, Co-Chairperson, Ways and Means Committee, Norwood PTA

The seminar hosted by Westwood Public Schools provided an excellent forum for members from various local school districts to evaluate Schools-On-I-Net (SOIN), discuss its potential to benefit their school communities and address issues pertaining to the implementation of Schools-On-I-Net vis-à-vis their existing systems.

Attendees included representatives from Westwood Regional, Northern Valley Regional, Norwood, Ramsey, Rochelle Park, and Bergen County Special Services School Districts. Ronnie's Gourmet Catering provided the refreshments.

The overall reception was indeed positive and enthusiastic, as attendees asked questions about interfacing the SOIN product with current database systems, providing training and support for teachers and other members, and maintaining and reporting on student-level data.

Volunteering their time, Mrs. Chani Lichtiger, IT Director, and Mrs. Claire Hirschhorn, Computer Teacher, of Yavneh Academy provided an overview of how their school system utilizes Schools-On-I-Net. Yavneh Academy, a K-8 private day school in Paramus, NJ, with 750+ students, has been using the Schools-On-I-Net product for the past 2 years. Mrs. Lichtiger addressed issues such as teacher usage, increased parental involvement and administrative capabilities to monitor student and teacher performance. Mrs. Lichtiger reported substantial monetary savings as well as increased efficiencies realized by using the SOIN system to replace traditional methods. For example, she stated, processes that involved paper and tremendous efforts, i.e. report cards, transcripts, recommendations, student evaluations, newsletters, faculty bulletins, flyers, forms, lesson plans, grade sheets, lunch menus, etc. are almost completely paperless, thanks to the easy to use features and enhanced integration of the SOIN system. Mrs. Hirschhorn provided evidence that the SOIN web platform for Yavneh Academy has become a way of life that has been well accepted by their constituents.

The presentation of Schools-On-I-Net highlighted key functions and features, and most notably, how these features are integrated within this centralized system. Because of the level of integration and customization offered, SOIN provides one place for all members of the school community to connect and share information online. SOIN promotes the sense of community, provides a robust communications forum and delivers a product that truly benefits each stakeholder in a very personalized way.

The live online demo provided a first hand look at the intuitive and user-friendly implementation of the product. Attendees noted that many key features included subtle nuances that proved the product was built with its users in mind.
