(PRWEB) December 20, 2004 -- The Rotary Club of Amherst East will donate a total of $3,500 to four local causes. The club is donating the net proceeds of its annual wine tasting event.

We hold a wine tasting event each year to raise funds for local causes," said Paul McAfee, president of the Rotary Club of Amherst East. This year, we will donate $1,000 to the Amherst Museum, $500 to the Amherst Symphony Orchestra Association, and $1,000 to the Resurrection Lutheran Church Health Center, in Buffalo. We also will donate $1,000 as a scholarship for a student at the Williamsville East High School."

Amherst Supervisor Susan Grelick commented, I think it's great that Rotary is leading the way on increased civic support for the Amherst Museum and Symphony." She added, I hope their example inspires other organizations to show their support too. On behalf of the Town of Amherst, thank you!" (Visit www.amherst.ny.us for more information.)
