(PRWEB) December 17, 2004 -- Maddocks Systems Inc., a leading developer of transportation and logistics software, has completed a series of enhancements to the TruckMate for Windows (TM4Win) enterprise package to help carriers easily manage new Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) requirements. These new features provide the ability to seamlessly transmit the shipment information required by ACE directly from the Maddocks software solution.

"Maddocks Systems Inc. has always been keenly focused on the unique software requirements of transportation carriers that handle cross border shipments," explained Bob Maddocks President and CEO of Maddocks Systems Inc. "Providing the tools to manage ACE within the TruckMate system will help our clients maintain compliance, eliminate border waiting time and easily adapt to future cross border security requirements."

Under ACE, before reaching the border, trucks are required to submit an e-Manifest through the web-based ACE Secure Data Portal or through a Customs and Border Protection (CBP) approved Electronic Data Interchange. Also an e-Release, the electronic process by which CBP authorizes the release of goods from the carrier or warehouse to an importer will be required for shipments heading into the United States.

"Transportation software can play an important role in the overall border security effort," added Maddocks. "Our company is committed to ensuring transportation carriers have software solutions available to preserve security while maintaining the smooth flow of goods across our borders."

Using the detailed shipment information already captured in TruckMate, Maddocks clients will have the ability to submit the information required through a customized EDI integration within the TruckMate software. Submitting the manifest early allows border security agencies to pre-screen the manifest through multiple checks before the truck arrives.

Founded in 1981, Maddocks Systems Inc. (www.maddockssystems.com) provides software solutions exclusively to the transportation and logistics industry. Truckmate for Windows is an enterprise-wide client server product designed to meet the needs of Truckload, LTL, Brokerage/Logistics, Bulk, Intermodal and Private carriers. With over 400 installed systems, Maddocks is one of the leading trucking software providers in North America.
