NY Jets DT #91 Josh Evans, Rap Superstar 50 Cent and G-Unit Clothing Team Up With Sports Agent Glenn Toby and The Book Bank Foundation to Build a One Day, All-Free Holiday Superstore for Homeless NYC Families

(PRWEB) December 17, 2004 -- 79 percent of the NYC homeless shelter population is comprised of children and families. During the holiday season, the population nearly doubles. To bring the hustle and bustle of the holiday shopping spirit to the homeless community, NY Jets defensive tackle #91 Josh Evans and Rap star 50 Cent have teamed up with sports agent Glenn Toby and the Book Bank Foundation to transform NYCs Bowery Mission into a free, one-day holiday superstore for the homeless at the 2nd Annual Josh Evans/Book Bank Foundation Holiday Clothing Drive to be held on Thursday, December 23, 2004.

Vendors from the fashion, toy and pharmaceutical industries are donating products so that over 300 homeless women, men and families may shop" at no cost as they select from a huge variety of brand new clothing, toys and over the counter medicine.

There are currently over 35,812 children, families and adults surviving in the New York City shelter system," says Glenn Toby, Total Entertainment Athlete Management CEO and The Book Bank Foundation founder. As one who personally experienced freezing holiday nights at one time as a homeless child, I understand how one toy, coat or simple remedy for a dry, stubborn cough thats given with respect can impact the spirit of a child and family…especially during the holiday season."

Thanks to the assistance of The Book Bank Foundation, Josh Evans, 50 Cent, super producer Swizz Beats, The Omavi Clothing Company, G-Unit Clothing and others from the Hip Hop, NFL and fashion communities who have made contributions and will be in attendance, Bowery Mission recipients will be able to take advantage of on-site chiropractic services as well as partake of a hearty and bountiful holiday feast.

The 2nd Annual Josh Evans/Book Bank Foundation Holiday Clothing Drive will be held on Thursday, December 23, 2004 from 11:00 AM- 3:00 PM at the Bowery Mission: 227 Bowery Street (between Prince & Spring).
