Long Awaited CD Release from Real Chick Records Hits the Streets and Online Music Marketplace Despite Tragedy

NYC rockers the New Professionals' CD 'Come Hell or High Drama' has finally been released. Lead singer Karen Curious started out with just her acoustic guitar at the local lesbian bar 'Meow Mix' on the Lower East Side, NYC. The music needed a band behind it, so Karen rounded up some local talent and the New Professionals was born. A couple of years later, a few line-up changes and an unfortunate tragedy didn't stop female rocker Karen Curious from doing what she does best: writing gut-wrenching songs about real-life issues and heartache.

(PRWEB) December 23, 2004 -- While recording the CD 'Come Hell or High Drama' in L.A. this past year, Karen's brother Derek Bellman was murdered in his home in Venice Beach, Ca. The killer(s) unfortunately have not been found at this point. It has been only 15 months since the murder and there is a fear that time is running out since most cases go cold and are closed after 2 years. Karen will set aside a large portion of the proceeds from record sales to go into a fund to aid the police in solving the crime.

The L.A.P.D. gets hundreds of homicide cases to deal with every day. The likelyhood of many of the homicides going unsolved is the unfortunate reality that we have to accept. "When it isn't a high profile victim or one with money, it seems as though the process comes to a grinding halt." Says Karen who is making it her life mission to help police solve the murder of her brother through her music. She is currently putting together all of the information that she can about her brother and his acquaintences and is working with producers of the FOX television show America's Most Wanted.

"It's a long and difficult road, but I believe that my brother Derek is with me every step of the way." Karen says as she feels that she is near the end of her rope. She states that every day is a battle, and the lack of closure really makes it diffcult to deal with every day activities. Karen keeps in touch with the detectives and gives them all of the help that she can. Even though she feels that it may do no good, she presses on. She deals with the loss through expressive song-writing and painting.

Karen Curious and the New Professionals have won the hearts of local 'rockers' on the Lower East Side in New York City and plan to tour the country this spring. Karen's passionate lyrics and rhaspy vocals draw even the most calloused musician into her web of sticky, well-written hits.

The CD 'Come Hell or High Drama' has been put up for sale in online environments such as iTunes, CDBaby, and Amazon.com. The New Professionals have also been featured in local NYC publications: the NY Waste, and GoNYC.
