Timothys Take-Out Sets New Standard for the Humorous Novel

Okay, perhaps Im exaggerating. But if its an entertaining diversion you seek, look no further – this novel is it!

(PRWEB) December 27, 2004 -- Timothys Take-Out should be prescribed, like medication, to those who are ailing. Seriously; how can immersing yourself in this weird and wonderful story not be good for you? At the risk of giving the story away, here is a brief synopsis:

Carl Fellows is homely, misanthropic, and a college dropout. All the guy needs to be completely miserable is a job that he hates. His best friend Harvey, only too willing to oblige him, suggests that he try for a position at Timothys," a popular fast food joint in an idyllic resort town. Thrilled at the prospect of summer at the beach," Carl agrees.

He lands the job, but is quick to realize the error of his ways. The shy young fellow is flat-out miscast in his role as personnel manager" – his employees quickly run roughshod over him, as do the customers. Only his love of an angelic co-worker keeps him from quitting and moving back in with his parents.

He devises ways to cope, channeling his rage into some pretty unlikely areas. Unfortunately, there is just no escaping that black cloud over his head, even in the sanctity of his ramshackle beach house. In the face of colossal failure and misfortune, Carl Fellows plods on…

The poor guy manages to tick off some gang members, who proceed to wreak all kinds of havoc in his life. Until, that is, they commit an act so unspeakably vile that it rouses the sluggish Carl to action (and ultimately transforms his destiny.)

Although based in part on author Paul J. Barkers youthful misadventures, Timothys Take-Out is an imaginative novel, and quite unique. Intriguing" would be the best way to describe both the characters and the difficulties with which they are faced.

And how could a novel about a fast food joint from hell be anything but howlingly funny?

Timothys Take-Out (ISBN 1-4137-3164-3) is available through most major online bookstores, but the easiest way to order a copy is to go directly to www.dontlikemyjob.com
