New York, NY (PRWEB) December 30, 2004 -- The Reverend Jesse L. Jackson, Sr. announced that the Eighth Annual Wall Street Project Conference will take place January 11-13 at the Hilton New York Hotel, 1335 Avenue of the Americas. The theme of the conference is Beyond Diversity, Equity and Parity: A New Covenant."

As we come together this year, seeking participation in Americas economic engine, we must be ever more vigilant in protecting the rights we have gained, even the right to vote," said Rev. Jackson. At the same time, we must extend the gains we have made to include economic parity and equity in the boardroom, in the managers offices and in the owners boxes," said Rev. Jackson.

The 2005 conference will be co-chaired by Charles Schumer, the United States Senator from New York, and Bruce Gordon, former president of the Verizon Foundation. The conference will feature top business and political leaders covering a wide range of topics via conference sessions, showcases, awards luncheons and special breakfast meetings, including Women in Corporate America, Elected Officials Roundtable, Career Opportunity Expo and Race, Culture and Violence in Sports.

Highlights of the Eighth Annual Wall Street Project Conference include:

•   Attorney General Eliot Spitzer to give keynote address at Economic Summit Breakfast on Tuesday, January 11th kicking off the Wall Street Project conference.

•   An Awards Luncheon – New York Life unveils the PBS documentary Slavery and the Making of America."

•   Predatory Lending: its Adverse Impact on the American Family. One Thousand Churches Connected – Power in Unity Breakfast. Speakers include Rev. Dr. Clyde Anderson, CEO, The United Methodist City Society and Martin Eakes, CEO, Center for Responsible Lending.
