Leading Conservative Activist Organization Launches National, Online Petition to Secure Our Borders

National petition calls on elected leadership to "Secure Our Borders" in the wake of the President's "Temporary Worker" plan.

WASHINGTON, DC (PRWEB) February 5, 2004 -- Today, Grassfire.org launched an aggressive, national petition effort to Secure Our Nations Borders."

After the President announced his ‘Temporary Worker plan, we felt that we had to come out publicly and say, ‘Anmesty and Temporary Worker plans are off the table until our elected leadership gets tough and secures our borders," says Steve Elliott, President of Grassfire.org, the host of this petition. We are calling on our leaders to make this issue the number one priority in 2004."

The petition contains six critical points that include, aggressive deportation, no benefits for illegals, and a strict English first requirement. For too long, the citizens of our nation have had to adapt to the flow of illegals into our land. We are seeing that Americans are over it. They want action," says Elliott. This online petition gives them an opportunity to make their voice heard on this issue."

Though Grassfire.org hopes rally a minimum of 100,000 citizens with this effort, Elliott expects to far exceed that number. With our nation at war, people are extremely sensitive to our border issues, so it wouldnt surprise me that we rally three or four times that number in short order."

Once the delivery goal is reached, Grassfire.org representatives will present the petitions to the White House and key members of Congress in a massive show of citizen support to secure our borders.

Grassfire.org is an online grassroots organization that provides tools to individuals and organizations seeking to expand their impact on todays issues. Grassfire is adding upwards of 10,000 new citizens each week--citizens who are eager to make an impact on the critical issues that concern them.
