CrunchIt 4.1 delivers new features in an affordable, easy-to-use package for mobile users who want to secure and exchange files with other computers. Fine-tuned for Microsoft Pocket PC and Windows Mobile devices, CrunchIt 4.1 supports more file formats, an enhanced user interface and is the first product to offer self-extracting ZIP files for this platform.

AURORA, Ontario (PRWEB) February 18, 2004--NSC today introduced CrunchIt 4.1, the next major release of its award-winning compression utility. The software delivers new features in an affordable, easy-to-use package for mobile users who want to secure and exchange files with other computers. Fine-tuned for Microsoft Pocket PC and Windows Mobile devices, CrunchIt 4.1 supports more file formats, an enhanced user interface and is the first product to offer self-extracting ZIP files to this platform.

"CrunchIt is the swiss army knife that every Pocket PC user needs," said Jeff Preston, NSC's President & CEO. "With its winning combination of powerful features such as self-extracting archives, performance benchmarking or the new UUencode/decode functions it solves a lot of problems handheld users encounter on a daily basis."

CrunchIt helps users organize, search, browse and secure ZIP archives in an easy-to-use fashion. The application builds on the Microsoft Pocket PC user interface and allows users to edit seven different file formats by tapping files and options. These capabilities enable users to store more data on their handhelds and safely transfer files over the Internet.

New features include:

- Create self-extracting (SFX) files that will automatically unzip themselves.
- Access thousands of files available in newsgroups and other Internet services with the built-in UUencode/decode features.
- Find and select files using name patterns.
- Multi-select capabilities in all file and archive views.
- Benchmark processor, storage and memory performance during ZIP operations.
- Overall speed enhancements.

Pricing & Availability

CrunchIt 4.1 is available immediately through the NSC software store (www.nsctech.com) and other online resellers for a suggested retail price of $24.95 USD. A limited trial version is also available from the same locations. The software requires a Microsoft Pocket PC 2000, 2002 or Windows Mobile device with 2 megabytes or more of storage space.
