Waste Audit Group Partners with H2E to Provide Specialized Waste Reduction to Healthcare Clients

Waste Audit Group will help further the goals of H2E, an organization dedicated to pollution prevention and metals reduction in health care systems, by becoming a Champion of their waste reduction program.

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) February 18, 2004--Waste Audit Group, Inc., a national waste management auditing firm, is proud to announce their partnership with H2E to become a Champion of their pollution reduction cause. H2E is a non-profit organization whose mission is to reduce the amount of toxic metals and other pollutants contained in the waste output of hospitals. Reduction of such materials can be accomplished by initiating waste recovery programs or implementing specialized recycling programs at a healthcare facility. These programs result in reduced pollutants in the waste stream, as well as cost savings for the healthcare organization.

Waste Audit Group (WAG) found that the synergy between H2Es pollutant-control programs and WAGs cost and waste-reduction services will provide a great value to hospitals and other healthcare systems. Waste Audit Group can now help their clients achieve greater cost savings and also bring healthcare organizations a ‘cleaner waste stream. By outsourcing the both the solid waste and pollutants discovery process and implementation to WAG, hospital staff can concentrate on providing healthcare services to patients and simultaneously achieve goals of cost-savings and pollutant-waste reduction.

As a Champion, Waste Audit Group commits to accomplishing pollutant-waste reduction within our service framework. The Groups primary goals are to educate healthcare facilities on the issues concerning mercury and other metal toxins in their waste streams; to educate them about the choices they have to reduce toxics; and finally to implement a solution that works for their facility. By incorporating additional methods of waste stream reduction and recovery, such as mercury and other toxics, WAG will help healthcare move towards a more streamlined and cleaner waste stream.

Laura Brannen, State Partnership Director for H2E, comments on how Champions can help their organization. Health care facilities produce more than two million tons of waste each year, and our goal is to take as much pollutant waste out of that stream as possible. Champions can help us achieve that goal by increasing the number of healthcare organizations that partner with us and commit to pursuing a cleaner waste stream. Our Champions are organizations that encourage and aid health care facilities to participate as H2E partners and/or who make changes in their own institutions that support the goals of the H2E Program."
