Galerie Saint Tropez Exposes the Oils of Argentine-born Expressionist Painter, Nadine Baurin. Interpretive public reception February 28th from 5:00 – 7:30 pm; Paintings displayed through April 14.

San Diego, CA-- Galerie Saint Tropez will hold the first solo exhibition of expressionist painter Nadine Baurin February 28th through April 14th, with a free, public Artist Reception held Saturday, February 28th from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m.

(PRWEB) February 27, 2004--Nadine Baurin paints in an "expressionistic" style characterized by a dynamic undertone. She describes her work as minimal representational, letting her paintings come to light in an intuitive manner. "After applying paint to my canvas" she states "I wait and let the images emerge. Like the child who carves images from clouds, I step away from the literal and attempt to paint what I perceive and feel."

With every painting the artist seeks to translate her feelings in order to lend energy and life to her imaginary subject matter. "The main purpose of my art is to evoke an emotion in the viewer; to trigger imagination and encourage reflection. I believe that while I am the one who creates a painting, it is ultimately the viewer who is able to give it its unique life."

"I'm excited and pleased to present the first solo exhibition of Argentine-born contemporary painter, Nadine Baurin" says Jerry Calote, Director of the Galerie Saint Tropez. "This free public reception will give the community an opportunity to meet the artist and view her most recent paintings."

The artist's strength lies in the balance of her explosive energy and fluidity. "Through rich textures and confident brushstrokes, she creates emotionally charged canvases that resonate with verve and freedom" says Calote. This expressive candor illustrates subtle influences of van Gogh, evident in the use of quick, energetic brushstrokes. She is also influenced by Kandinsky's abstraction and the abstract-expressionists' spontaneity characterized by the uninhibited application of paint to canvas, creating images that are charged with boldness, energy and emotion.
