A First for SXSW

Action Figure is the first company in the history of the South By Southwest Conferences to be showcased in all three categories - film, music and web design.

Austin, TX (PRWEB) February 28, 2004– Action Figure, a small but nationally acclaimed, Austin-based creative agency, will be the first company in the history of South By Southwest to be showcased in all three SXSW conferences in the same year. The 2004 SXSW Music, Film, and Interactive conferences take place March 12-21.

With a finalist in the SXSW Interactive Web Awards Competition (the irreverent voter registration website VoterVirgin, http://votervirgin.com/) and a SXSW Film featured music video ("Bring the Noise", for The Unholy Trio and Blood Shot Records), Action Figure lives up to their reputation for across-the-board badassness. But regular clients may be surprised to learn that two of the creative directors and principal partners are also band members in The Pretty Please, who will be showcased in the SXSW Music Conference (http://www.sxsw.com/music/showcases/pages/4963.html).

Action Figure is most known for their award-winning identity, graphic design and film production work for clients such as IBM, Vignette, Tivoli and Ballet Austin. This small, ten person shop holds its own against world wide, cutting-edge competition. The SXSW Music/Film/Interactive Conference and Festival is one of the most renowned and respected industry events on the planet.

Some of Action Figures current projects include a film for the World Congress on Information Technology, branding and website design for Downtown Austin and the concept/design/production of a coffee table cookbook for The Driskill Hotel.

Weve been so busy that I really havent had much time to realize that this is already such a great year for us. We always look forward to SXSW, but this one will obviously be a little more interesting for us than in years past. Were just going to focus extra hard on avoiding the hangover." – Matt Hovis, creative director.
