New Web Software Finally Connects Boat Dealers and Boat Manufacturers

Alpha Data Systems has just released a new module to complement their flagship boat manufacturing software. BOAT/TRACK dealerCentral allows dealers to use the Internet as a fast, cost-effective means to view and submit boat orders and parts, process warranty claims online, verify production status of boat orders and check on sales volume programs.

(PRWEB) February 28, 2004--Alpha Data Systems has just released a new module to complement their flagship boat manufacturing software. BOAT/TRACK dealerCentral allows dealers to use the Internet as a fast, cost-effective means to view and submit boat orders and parts, process warranty claims online, verify production status of boat orders and check on sales volume programs.

We developed dealerCentral in response to strong demand from both manufacturers and dealers for a complete web based solution," says Chuck Bond, president of Alpha Data Systems. Its the first marine software of its kind to allow both parties to be completely in sync by using the Internet."

For example, a dealer can log on to their own secure web site and create an order from scratch (models, engines and options are in the online database). From there they can view the status of their other orders to see what is in production, invoiced, etc. With a couple more mouse clicks they can then check the status of the claim that was submitted last week.

Web based products have been slow to take hold in the boating industry due to the complexity of some of the early offerings. DealerCentral is unique in that it eliminates technical jargon in favor of familiar terms common throughout the industry, making it easier for manufacturers to bring their dealers on board.

Chuck Bond explains, By submitting orders and claims online dealers can drastically increase efficiency and customer satisfaction. On the flip side, manufacturers can then reap the rewards of seeing those orders in ‘real-time while eliminating many of the re-keying errors common to taking orders by fax or by voice."
