Local U2 tribute band made it a BEAUTIFUL DAY" for American and NATO troops with a welcome back show in Venice, Italy!
(PRWEB) March 14, 2004--Elevation is not your typical tribute band. Having just kicked off their 12-day tour of Europe with an energetic performance for more than 5,000 American and NATO troops in Venice, Italy on March 12 - they are looking forward to shows in Bosnia and Kosovo. They shared the stage with rock legend Joan Jett and The Blackhearts, with Oleander also on the bill.
"It was a giant welcome home party for a bunch of lads who had been in Iraq for a year," says Mick Barnard bassist and Adam Clayton-look alike, "so we pulled out all the stops."
Although North America is Elevation's home turf, they are delighted to be performing across Europe for NATO and American troops. The tour will also include a special show in Sarajevo, scene of U2's famous 1997 PopMart show.
Formed in January 2002, this local U2 tribute band started out playing small pubs and clubs, moving through the ranks by hard work, enthusiasm and an amazing U2 fan base (www.u2gta.ca). This has paid off for Elevation with substantial opportunities - and stemming from their first big break in March 2003 playing three sold-out nights in Las Vegas - Elevation has quickly established itself as Canadas most requested U2 tribute show. Elevation has also performed shows in San Francisco, Cleveland and New York as well as having recently headlined the inaugural inTO the HEART – U2 Fan Fest" in Toronto this past November. People have travelled from all over the world to see Elevation perform and are always amazed at the incredible authenticity and emotional energy that the band brings to their shows.
