Canton, MI (PRWEB) March 17, 2004 -- The Society for Nonprofit Organizations announced the launch of a career web site, www.nonprofitcareers.org . The site allows nonprofit organizations to list open positions and provides job seekers with a method for applying online.
The web site is available to members and non-members of the Society. Members of the Society receive free job postings based on their membership level. Non-members receive their first posting free of charge, and can post additional jobs for a nominal fee of $50 per post. There is no cost for job seekers to search and apply for jobs.
"We chose to start this web site because our members identified a need for an inexpensive nationwide career site specific to nonprofits. We realize how challenging, and expensive, it can be for organizations to find talented individuals," President, Katie Burnham Laverty said.
The Society for Nonprofit Organizations is a 501(c)(3) national membership organization that was founded in 1983. The Society encourages sharing among nonprofit organizations, and promotes excellence in leadership, management, and governance practices. The Society is best known for its national publications - Nonprofit World and Funding Alert - as well as its Learning Institute educational programs.
