Jesus as Controversial Figure Described in New Publication

Criticisms of Mel Gibsons movie, The Passion of the Christ, often reflect widespread misunderstandings about the controversial figure of Jesus Christ.

Cincinnati, OH (PRWEB) March 27, 2004--To help dispel those misunderstandings and significant myths about Jesus Christ and his life, the United Church of God has released a free 132-page booklet, Jesus Christ: The Real Story. It describes the true, yet little-understood story about Christ and his surprising message that few comprehend today.

The booklet illustrates how Jesus Christ and his original followers were maligned, discredited and persecuted. Even though the same is true today, very few people understand why. The booklet asks and answers such questions as: Who was Jesus Christ? Where did he come from? What did he teach? Was he God in the flesh? Was he only a man? Why did he die? What was the real message he brought?

A copy of this new booklet, along with a subscription to The Good News magazine, is available free of charge at www.ucg.org/realstory or by writing to P.O. Box 541069, Cincinnati, Ohio, 45254-1069.

The world headquarters of the United Church of God is located in Cincinnati, Ohio. The nondenominational Christian church has members and full-time ministers in more than 350 congregations in 46 countries around the globe. Its flagship publication, The Good News, has a current circulation of 429,000. The church also publishes a host of other booklets and publications, all free for the asking.
