A workshop for artists and arts-related organizations interested in learning how to maximize media visibility.

Artists, arts-related organizations, and non-profit agencies interested in serving the cultural arts community are invited to attend an upcoming Nuts ‘n Bolts of Arts-Oriented PR" workshop with Karen Pierce Gonzalez May 3, 5:30-7, at the Cultural Arts Council of Sonoma County, 529 Fifth Street, Santa Rosa.
This introductory presentation explores various media venues and how to best present press release and press kits.
There will also be time for participants to develop a basic media strategy for a particular project or event.
Karen Pierce Gonzalez, owner of Karen Pierce Gonzalez Public Relations, has more than 25 years of media-related experience, including many years as principal of Karen Pierce Gonzalez Public Relations where she serves clients, such as Marin Museum of the American Indian, Lucky Dog Theatre Full Spectrum Improv, International Humorist David Roche, jeweler/ artist Andrew Redhorse Alvarez, and Chilean musician, Andres Condon.
She is also a regular freelancer for the San Francisco Chronicle and has written for the numerous publications, including Marin Independent Journal, Press Democrat, San Francisco Magazine, and Australian Trade Community Journal.
Her literary awards include 2004 1st Place, National League of American Pen Women Literary Competition and 2002 3rd Place, California Writers Association.
