Palisade CTO and Iowa State computer engineering professor to speak on protecting networks from hacking at Inc. 500 conference.

Dr. Jacobson has been asked to speak at the conference because of his diverse background in network security. Beyond being the founder and CTO of Palisade Systems, he is an associate professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Iowa State University. For the past 7 years, he has assisted local law enforcement agencies in numerous computer crimes including software theft, harassment, and child pornography. Most recently, Dr. Jacobson has been directing the establishment of the Internet-Scale Event and Attack Generation Environment (ISEAGE) - pronounced ice age" - Lab at Iowa State. The lab is designed to be a virtual Internet for the purposes of creating and testing new cyber defense mechanisms.
