New York, NY (PRWEB) April 1, 2004 -- For Native New Yorker first-time filmmaker Heather Robertson, first -quarter of this year has been a busy one. Entering her 6th film festival having covered both coasts, shell be ‘coming home hitting the New York International Independent Film & Video Festival (NYIIFVF) with a screening on Wednesday, April 28th, 2004 at Village East Cinemas (12th Street & 2nd Avenue in NYC), Screen 7 at 8:00 p.m. For Robertson, this is an opportunity to showcase her three key bodies of work as Director, Writer and Producer (and quick acting cameo, to boot!) In a 2004 film festival tour circuit all over the U.S., Robertson is glad to be bringing her Comedy/Mockumentary signature film style full-circle… not just in her hometown, but also in the very state where she shot the film.

Casting Adrift" is about Popstar, Carlin Wilders wild adventure casting her favorite unemployed soap opera actors to co-star
in her feature film directorial debut with rehearsals taking place in her East Hampton mansion for 2 weeks under strict instructions to
not bring cell phones, companions or shoes. Documented by a video crew onsite takes the groups own reality beyond imagination,
including Wilders request to Kiss The Bunny." The comedy stars Jamie Day, Dane Whitlock, Holly Perkins, Peter Cavanagh, Katy Barker and Erick Kastel.
Robertson is a graduate of St. Pauls School and Georgetown University, where she received a B.A. in English Literature. She worked in television productions talk" genre through 1996 then enrolled in the New Schools MFA program in Creative Writing, making her way to New York Film Academys Intensive Digital Filmmaking Course. Robertsons filmmaking thirst would be quenched when she met Dublin-native, John McKone. Collaborating on writing Casting Adrift" launched Robertson into production in East Hampton, NY in February 2003, wrapping production in just 5 weeks. Robertson is the daughter of accomplished actors Cliff Robertson and Dina Merrill.
Prior to this, her film has been screened at the New York International Independent FIlm & Video Festival in Los Angeles, 5th annual Westchester Film Festival in White Plains, NY, Valley International Film Festival in North Hollywood, CA and screenings in Florida at Palm Beach Intl Film Festival are set for April 16th, 18th & 22nd and Tampas Tambay Film & Video Festival on April 24th. She plans on hitting festivals all over the U.S. and abroad the rest of this year.
