San Antonio, TX (PRWEB) April 1, 2004 -- As Hollywood celebrities like Billy Bob Thornton, Dennis Quaid and Jason Patric invaded San Antonio, Texas for the premiere of the Walt Disney film The Alamo," Matthew A. Gilbert defended two papers at the 16th Annual Conference of International Academy of Business Disciplines (IABD) from March 25 to March 28. Gilbert – the Managing Director of Clear Pixel Communications, a provider of strategic business solutions to entrepreneurial organizations and individuals– presented papers on the leadership lessons of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and the viability of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) telephone systems.

The freedom that the battle at the Alamo symbolizes dovetailed nicely with the themes of both papers," Gilbert explained. Kings leadership legacy is strong because he inspired people with hope and motivated them to make a difference in their own intellectual and emotional emancipation. Likewise, Voice over Internet Protocol telephone systems liberate businesses from the constraints of traditional voice communication systems and enable them to advance their enterprise beyond traditional boundaries."

This is Gilberts second appearance at the annual conference of IABD – a worldwide, non-profit organization established in 1987 to foster and promote education in the functional and support disciplines of business. He previously presented a paper investigating the impact of intranets on internal communication at the 15th annual conference in Orlando, FL in April 2003.

An MBA student at Woodbury University in Burbank, CA, Gilbert became affiliated with IABD when Dr. Satinder K. Dhiman, the chair of the schools MBA program, encouraged him to submit to the conference a paper originally written for a class of which Dhiman was the instructor.

Matthew has the true gift of expression. I have rarely seen such a facility with the language in a business major," Dhiman explains. I was impressed with the paper because of its superb organization of ideas, quality of the material and pragmatic nature of the subject matter. I immediately recommended it for presentation at a professional conference."

The paper was subsequently also accepted for publication and presentation at the 2003 International Business Research & Management Conference in Honolulu, Hawaii. Gilberts participation in these initial conferences – and his continued interest in participating in similar events – exemplifies the organizational intent of Clear Pixel.

Whether promoting an initiative for a client or presenting information at a conference, education is the foundation of our inspiration," says Gilbert. Lifelong learning is essential for personal and professional success."
