TerrorBet the world's first trading exchange to offer contracts on civil unrest events today reopened for preregistration following its presentation to the European Commission in Brussels.

Brussels, Belgium (PRWEB) April 6, 2004 -- TerrorBet the world's first trading exchange to offer contracts on civil unrest events today re-opened for preregistration following its presentation to the European Commission in Brussels.

Aiming to become one of the core innovation projects as part of the European Commission's Preparatory Action on the enhancement of security research, Terrorbet was invited to present the project to over 400 delegates at Concert Noble in the heart of Brussels.

"We are facing new forms of threats to global security so we need to innovate to combat them. Financial markets brings together thousands of participants with conflicting ideas which merge to form a single 'market view'. This market view is often a much more accurate predictive measure that the analysis of market experts alone." Programme director Chad Noble said. "We need new forms of analysis to combat the new forms of threat, not just from the Middle East, but all around the world. Our leaders remind us that we face a new 21st Century threat, yet to date, only 20th Century methods have been employed to combat it. We must address this anomaly if we stand any chance in challenging the new threats we face.

TerrorBet's core purpose is data analysis and by creating a trading exchange, we can offer a wider range of people the opportunity to participate in the project and improve the quality of the results.

Thanks to our presentation to the European Commission, many research organisations across Europe have already expressed an interest in utilising the data output from TerrorBet for further research and analysis. This interaction between independent European research organisations is likely to provide a key breakthrough in the analysis of all available intelligence data.

The European Commission is now proactively seeking new methods to combat the security threats we face and is prepared to fund innovative projects that bring real results. TerrorBet intends to be at the centre of this research."
