Responding to the growing interest in advertising placement within contextual settings, Penn Media, the nations largest network of online publications announces the introduction of Context Plus.

Mokena, IL (PRWEB) April 6, 2004 -- Responding to the growing interest in advertising placement within contextual settings, Penn Media, the nations largest network of online publications announces the introduction of Context Plus.

Jaffer Ali, founder and chief strategic officer explained, The hottest advertising space right now is search engine marketing. When you analyze why, the conclusion is obvious; placing relevant ads inside contextual settings yields higher click throughs AND a higher click quality. Because we have hundreds of publications ranging from bass fishing to investment advice, it makes sense to deliver a new level of targeting based upon content."

Context Plus is a program that lets advertisers place 75-word ads inside newsletters/e-zines within forty-four different content channels. The advertising is text, similar to Google, Overture and other search engines, however the ad space allows for up to 7 lines and 65 characters per line. This is six times the number of characters many search engines allow – yielding far more detailed descriptions of the product or service being advertised.

Relevance is one key to advertising. Behavior is another. In the search engine sector, people identify themselves by what they search for - and Google has made a business on supplying relevant ads based upon this behavior." Continues Ali, Likewise, Penn believes that people subscribing to a travel newsletter like Weekend Getaway" are also identifying themselves. Subscribers get that information via these text newsletters or e-zines, and want advertisements that are equally relevant to their interests. Context Plus is our way of responding to this need."

Context Plus is available immediately to advertisers. The ad space is sold on a CPM basis; pricing is based upon the channel choice.
