KnowledgeStorm, the Internet's most highly trafficked business technology search engine, today announced Googles VP of Advertising Sales Tim Armstrong has been named to KnowledgeStorm's Board of Directors.

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) April 13, 2004 -- KnowledgeStorm, the Internet's most highly trafficked business technology search engine, today announced Googles VP of Advertising Sales Tim Armstrong has been named to KnowledgeStorm's Board of Directors. Members include KnowledgeStorm's Kelly Gay, Sterling Venture Partners' Brian Hirsch, Apex Venture Partners' Lon Chow, LiveOak Equity Partners Jim Gilbert, Total Technology Ventures Tom Smith and Internet Security Systems' (ISSX) Tom Noonan.

Ive been a close observer of KnowledgeStorm for some time - the company is on a remarkable growth trajectory, having enjoyed triple-digit revenue increases three years running, launching new offerings more frequently than ever and attracting more than a million and a half unique user sessions each month," said Armstrong. Along with that growth comes escalating complexity in driving and managing sales. My role on the KnowledgeStorm board will involve keeping a view of market opportunities and helping to capture those opportunities through calculated product advancement and revenue strategies."

Armstrong serves on the board of the Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB), and KnowledgeStorm is his first appointment to a company board of directors. As Vice President of Advertising Sales for Google, Armstrong leads the company's national sales team. Previously, Armstrong served as vice president of Sales and Strategic Partnerships for Snowball.com, where he managed a team of 100 people and built the revenue foundation needed to take the company public in just 16 months. Armstrong also was responsible for key strategic partnerships that included equity and marketing investments by New Line Cinema and an exclusive partnership with the NFL. Prior to his role at Snowball.com, Armstrong served as national sales manager for IDG's first Internet magazine, I-Way, before founding and serving as director of Integrated Sales & Marketing at Starwave's and Disney's ABC/ESPN Internet Ventures. Armstrong is a graduate of Connecticut College with a double major in Economics and Sociology.

‘Raw smarts-thats how Tim Armstrong has been described to me, and its an apt description. With his intellectual acuity, organizational capability and disarming approach, were thrilled to have Tim join our board of directors," said Kelly Gay, chairman, president & CEO of KnowledgeStorm. While KnowledgeStorm and Google both are part of the search engine industry, KnowledgeStorm is clearly on a different scale and concentrates solely in the area of specialty search for business technology. KnowledgeStorm takes the initial search many steps past the original impression and click through, and then can track exactly what occurs, by whom, where and what the result is. Were eagerly anticipating Tims unencumbered view of market opportunities available to KnowledgeStorm and his incisive input on how to capture them."
