Vibren Technologies selected by Transmeta as a Primary Integration Partner for New Crusoe Embedded System Development

Boxborough, MA (PRWEB) April 14, 2004 -- Vibren Technologies, a gold-level Windows Embedded Partner (WEP), announced today that Transmeta Corporation has selected Vibren as a primary integration partner for the Crusoe Embedded System Developer Kit (ESDK). As a primary integration partner, Vibren is available to work closely with product developers planning to use Crusoe processors in their system designs, helping them architect, code, test and implement mobile and industry-specific solutions for Windows CE .NET platforms. The company will work in tandem with product designers or on a fully outsourced basis.

Transmetas Crusoe processor is widely known for its combination of ultra-low power requirements and high-end processing capabilities. The companys ESDK is targeted toward developers of small mobile devices, an area in which Vibren Technologies has demonstrated particularly strong expertise. Over the past four years Vibren has successfully completed embedded systems projects for a wide variety of mobile devices that are manufactured by the worlds top technology companies.

With its strong expertise in embedded systems development, Vibren Technologies is well suited to bring new products from the idea stage all the way though final delivery," said Arthur L. Swift, senior vice president of marketing for Transmeta. This collaboration with Vibren will further the development of new Crusoe-based embedded systems."

Vibren is prepared to support the many manufacturers expected to incorporate Microsoft Windows CE .NET or Windows XP Embedded operating systems into their new Crusoe-based devices. Known for working with leading-edge technologies, Vibren can help system builders design and develop a new breed of mobility devices to take advantage of the new design capabilities brought by the combination of Windows operating systems and the Transmeta ESDK.

We are driving ourselves on every level to bring products rapidly from silicon to market," said Tom DeSisto, vice president of business development, Vibren Technologies. The Transmeta Developers Kit will reduce the overall development costs and reduce time to market for vendors developing Windows embedded mobile devices."

A vital component of Vibrens development services for the Crusoe processor is a close alliance with system software provider, Phoenix Technologies. The Phoenix Trusted Partner Network provides a strong ecosystem for successful deployment of cutting edge technologies. The unique combination of Vibrens Transmeta design expertise and its background with Phoenix Core System Software will accelerate time to market for Crusoe-based embedded systems.

Vibren engineers are available for a free consultation regarding Crusoe-based device development.
