Naval Academy Graduate Andrew Payson Shelter has been named GradPAC's Website Director.
Captain Shelter is a veteran of both Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm and Operation Noble Eagle/Enduring Freedom. He currently owns and operates Payson Associates, a cutting edge graphics, internet and computer support company with numerous corporate, political and individual clients across the nation.
Washington, DC (PRWEB) April 14, 2004 -– GradPAC Chairman Shawn N. Olds announced the appointment of Andrew Payson Shelter as the organizations website director today.
Shelter is a 1982 graduate of the United States Naval Academy. He is currently the owner and operator of Payson Associates, a cutting edge graphics, internet and computer support company with numerous corporate, political and individual clients across the nation.
Andy was a warrior for his country long before he became a website expert," said GradPAC Chairman Olds. As a decorated Naval officer with two wartime deployments over the course of an impressive 20-year military career, Andy has served his nation with great honor and distinction. His extensive knowledge, expertise and leadership will significantly enhance GradPACs operational ability while also providing tremendous resources to our candidates seeking federal office."
After graduating from Annapolis with a degree in Systems Engineering, Shelter served in a number of commands including tours as Administration Officer and Navigator onboard the USS Ainsworth, FF-1090. Subsequently, he served as a Selected Reservist Training Officer for both the Naval Weapons Station in Seal Beach, California as well as the Mobile Inshore Undersea Warfare Unit (MIUWU) 202 in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
Recalled to active duty in 1990-1991 and 2001-2002 with Mobile Inshore Undersea Warfare units, Shelter served in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait during Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm; and during Operation Noble Eagle/Enduring Freedom, he served in Virginia and at the U.S. Naval Base, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. He served as Commanding Officer of MIUWU 206 in Norfolk, Virginia and MIUWU 208 in Miami, Florida during his Reserve career. In 2003, he transferred into the Individual Ready Reserve (IRR) with the rank of Captain, USNR.
Shelter and his wife, Vickie, reside in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania with their three children.
