Miles Technologies, Inc. announces that they have concluded technical and sales training in RFID Technology from the leaders in RFID. Many of the suppliers to Wal-mart and DOD are attempting to comply with aggressive deadlines while other companies are trying to understand the technology and its return on investment. Miles Technologies views this technology as evolving and worth the investment in certifications and training.

Lake Zurich, IL (PRWEB) April 15, 2004 -– Miles Technologies, Inc. has concluded technical and sales training in RFID Technology from the leaders in RFID. Miles Technologies, Inc. has over 22 years experience in the barcode industry. They have provided custom solutions and integration to companies across North America. Miles is experienced in RFID or smart tags" and auto-id" with commercial clients and government contracts.

Tom OBoyle, Corporate VP, stated that RFID is an evolving technology. The DOD and Wal-mart compliance mandates are driving requirements, but the technology is still being defined." RFID technology uses labels or tags that have a chip and antenna to read items even in cases and pallets. RFID readers may be hand-held devices, mounted for conveyer use or placed in door ways. Items are read as they pass the reader. This requires less human interaction resulting in fewer errors and lower labor costs. Now is the time for businesses to have an awareness of the technology. New products are being designed to support these mandates. The RFID market is moving so quickly that we are actually beginning to see RFID tag prices dropping."

Tom Beusch, President of Miles Technologies, Inc., states that while RFID is evolving it is a great time to determine how to best utilize barcoding in general. Since not all businesses need RFID, they should review their warehouse management and inventory control strategies including implementing plans for wireless networking, mobile printing, or color label printing. We find that many of our customers have not fully integrated these technologies with their ERP systems. Many have benefited from implementing these systems. When the RFID technology becomes stable and lower priced, they will have a WMS structure that can support it. No reason to fall into the chasm, lets wait for the bridge to be built first!"

Miles has demonstrated leadership in WMS integrating and has recently announced their new low cost INVision inventory control and locator software.
