EMail Service Blocks Pornography and Spam Based Upon FTC CAN-SPAM Criteria

Famed inventor, R. Lee Heath, has introduced antiporn antispam email filters that block pornography based upon the new FTC criteria administered under CAN-SPAM Act. Aggressive antivirus scanning is included with the service.

Glenview, IL (PRWEB) April 19, 2004 -- ActivatorMail, a popular email service, has announced it is already filtering pornography and spam based on the new criteria outlined by the Federal Trade Commission under the CAN-SPAM Act. No expensive software purchase is required and the filtering provided is fully automated.

Under the CAN-SPAM Act, the FTC is to introduce further spam regulations from 19 May that stipulate that spam containing sexually oriented material must contain the tag SEXUALLY-EXPLICIT in the subject line and additionally use techniques that ensure the contents of such mail are not displayed on first opening the email. The FTC conducted a study this Spring and learned that 17% of all pornographic spam e-mails contain pornographic images.

According to the American Management Association EPolicy Institute surveys, 27 percent of Fortune 500 companies have defended themselves against claims of sexual harassment stemming from inappropriate email or Internet use... Chevron had to pay female employees $2.2 million to settle a sexual harassment lawsuit stemming from inappropriate e-mail sent by male employees. The serious nature and potential damage caused by sexually explicit emails should not be underestimated and effective filtering should be deployed to minimize these risks.

Now with ActivatorMail email filtering services, any enterprise or individual may have their email automatically filtered for pornography and spam using the new FTC, CAN-SPAM, criteria. ActivatorMail may be setup in minutes and works with any standard web browser or email client, like Outlook, Eudora, Netscape or any standard email server, like Microsoft Exchange, Unix/Linux SendMail, etc. The service includes aggressive antivirus scanning and there is no expensive software to purchase and install, saving thousands of dollars in up-front and ongoing expenses.
