UniSay Announces Professional 'Do It Yourself' Software-Only Solution for Captioning and Subtitling

UniSay, a provider of innovative software and services for postproduction, is announcing a complete software-only solution for closed captioning and subtitling.

Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) April 19, 2004--UniSay, a provider of innovative software and services for postproduction, is announcing a complete software-only solution for closed captioning and subtitling using the Avid® MetaSync technology.

UniSay Subtitler addresses the needs of postproduction professionals in small and medium-size studios seeking an affordable closed captioning and subtitling solution compatible with their existing PC-based NLE systems.

UniSay combines an automated online service with client software to offer a cost effective alternative for professional quality Do It Yourself” closed captioning and subtitling. By enabling control over the entire captioning workflow, UniSay provides Avid users an opportunity to tap into new revenue streams.

Simply upload a transcript and media file to the UniSay service, select translation options, and then download the synchronized file into the UniSay software. The UniSay plug-in allows files processed online to integrate with Avid or Digidesign® applications. The Avid MetaSync technology allows users requiring multiple versions of programming to retain closed caption integrity throughout the re-editing process, reducing time spent preparing new files.

Tremendous time and cost savings can result from postproduction workflow remaining in-house, up to the actual point of broadcast or distribution,” says William Mutual, UniSay Chairman. Targeting the Avid NLE platform allows us to offer the most complete workflow possible.”

Michael Phillips, principal product designer for Avid, added, With closed captioning being an important component in the programming distribution process, we made it a priority to create solutions that enable our users to generate revenue in this area. UniSay is clearly an innovator in this market, and we look forward to working closely with them as a tier 1 MetaSync developer.”

Pricing and Availability
The Avid MetaSync capability comes standard with all current versions of Symphony, Media Composer®, Avid Xpress® and NewsCutter® XP systems. UniSay online services and Subtitler application are distributed separately and work with MetaSync technology as a software-only solution for creating closed captioning and subtitling workflow. UniSays software is currently distributed at no charge for use with its online services, which are priced on a per project basis.
