ProTech Announces Entry into Water Treatment Systems and Services Industry

ProTech offers a complete range of water treatment services, specializing in runoff and stormwater treatment

NAPA, CA (PRWEB) April 26, 2004 -– ProTech General Contracting Services Inc. (ProTech) today announced the Companys formal entry into the water treatment systems and services industry. ProTech provides a wide range of mobile water filtration and treatment services for construction, environmental, agricultural, and many other applications. Using state-of-the-art technology, the Companys water treatment services offer significant cost savings while meeting the strictest water quality criteria and permit requirements. Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, ProTech services projects throughout the West.

We formed ProTech based on our observation that there are major opportunities to improve efficiency and lower the cost of sediment removal and filtration of stormwater runoff, particularly at construction sites," says Len Pisciotta, President of ProTech. Our initial Sediment Removal System was a huge success with contractors looking for a cost-effective means to meet strict water quality requirements. We have since expanded our capabilities to include water treatment systems with higher flow rates and specialized treatment options."

ProTechs water treatment systems use the most efficient technology available, offering increased sediment removal efficiency and improved water quality at significantly lower cost than conventional methods. ProTech utilizes its own proprietary technology, as well as equipment and expertise from its partner firms. The Companys systems are recognized as Best Management Practices by Caltrans and other regulatory agencies, and have been demonstrated to meet strict discharge requirements in numerous projects.

ProTech also specializes in difficult-to-treat water," adds Rebecca Mirsky, Ph.D., P.E., and ProTech Senior Environmental Engineer. Many of our projects have water with high levels of colloids and other substances that are impractical to remove with traditional gravity settling methods, and these same projects often discharge into sensitive surface waters. We have been very successful at developing environmentally-friendly methods that treat almost any influent stream to drinking water standards, while maintaining high flow rates."

ProTech offers water treatment systems for a variety of applications, such as construction site and stormwater runoff, dewatering operations, well drilling, and more. A complete range of water filtration and treatment technologies is available, including clarification, oil/water separation, chemical treatment, and cartridge and membrane filtration, designed and optimized for the specific application. The Company also provides design and engineering services, planning and permit application, water treatment system installation and maintenance, and monitoring and compliance documentation. ProTechs services and equipment are available for short- or long-term projects, and can be provided as components in water treatment systems or as complete turn-key systems.

ProTech will be exhibiting at StormCon, the third annual North American Surface Water Quality Conference and Exposition, on July 27-29, 2004 in Booth #116, Main Hall, Desert Springs Marriott, Palm Desert, California. Chris Ott, ProTechs Chief Technology Officer and Dr. Rebecca Mirsky will be presenting a paper entitled, Polymer Coagulants and Flocculants to Improve Clarification Efficiency in Construction Site Stormwater" on July 28 at 2 p.m. (Session Number B50).
