Tony Bain Group has announced the availability of their comprehensive SQL Server Health Audit service with intentions of further strengthening SQL Servers market perception

Melbourne, Australia (PRWEB) April 23, 2004 -- Tony Bain Group has announced the availability of their comprehensive SQL Server Health Audit service with intentions of further strengthening SQL Servers market perception.

Most organisations have realised the benefits in TCO that SQL Server provides" says Tony Bain Group founder Tony Bain, however there is still a common misconception that SQL Server is not as reliable, or does not perform as well as some of the more expensive legacy database platforms. Because of this we think many businesses are not migrating their mission critical databases to SQL Server as quickly as they probably should be".

Tony attributes these misconceptions to frequent poor implementation of Microsofts flagship database product. One of the main benefits of SQL Server has been that it is really easy to design, develop and implement database solutions. Unfortunately this has also proven to be a slight disadvantage as we have seen relatively inexperienced people calling themselves experts and implementing SQL Server without really understanding how to address security, disaster recovery, reliability and performance issues" says Tony. If these implementations fail, lose data or under perform they are quick to blame the database platform rather than their own poor implementation" he adds.

Further improving the reputation of SQL Server has a direct impact on TBGs business model. Our bread and butter is our services that relate to mission critical databases, such as performance optimisation, high availability and disaster recovery. Therefore it is in our best interest to ensure that SQL Server is seen as the robust, scalable platform that it is so everyone feels confident in migrating their most critical databases" says Tony.

To help achieve this Tony Bain Group has made available its SQL Server Health Audit service at the low cost of $500 per server. The audit checks a database server for common issues that result in data loss, security breeches and slow response times. We aim to do a mass clean up of poor implementations and educate our clients on the requirements necessary to implement SQL Server in a robust, efficient and secure manner" says Tony.

Tony Bain Group is based in Melbourne and provides services to clients nationally. For more information visit www.tonybain.com or call TBG on +61-3-9626-2432.
