RippleFest Announces Summer Festival Lineup

Northwest Ohio Venue to Host Weekend of Outdoor Musical Entertainment Featuring the Dark Star Orchestra, ekoostik hookah, Railroad Earth, and More

Bluffton, Ohio (PR WEB) June 2 – Warmer weather and blooming trees mean the outdoor festival season is just around the corner. RippleFest will be held June 18, 19 at Camp Jam in Bluffton, Ohio.

Entertainment for the weekend will be provided by the music of ekoostik hookah, the Dark Star Orchestra, Tony Trischka Band, The Recipe, Grasshopper Pie, The Shantee, and others.

The festival features a covered, open-air stage area with on-site camping in an easy to find location about 50 miles south of Toledo in Northwest Ohio.

The appeal in Dark Star Orchestra, Fridays scheduled headliner, is in the sonic similarity to the Grateful Dead and its ability to replicate the music of any period the storied bands career. The Dallas Morning News declared DSO the next best thing to being there."

Saturdays headliner, ekoostik hookah, brings its unmatched, high-energy live show to the RippleFest stage as the finale to the entire weekend. The band will share the spotlight along with the timeless, country-rock stew and bluegrass ingredients of a newly-revamped The Recipe.

The most recent addition to the RippleFest lineup is the Tony Trischka Band. Tony is one of the world's most innovative banjo players. Throughout his thirty year career, he has defied boundaries and explored a wide variety of genres commonly considered out-of-bounds for the banjo and has served as a major influence in the career of popular banjo virtuoso Bela Fleck.

RippleFest also promotes a wide-variety of talented Ohio bands including The Shantee, the consistently soul-satisfying sounds of roots rockers Grasshopper Pie, and their rock and roll brothers The One-Eyed Show, Burning River Band, and Skeleton Crew.

Stirring acoustic tweener" sets occur before each headliner first by Eric Loy on Friday, whose jazz-tinged, finger style harp guitar may end up the most talked about surprise of the weekend. Saturdays tweener set will be Joe Prichard and Julie Edlow of The Recipe.

On the visual side, large screens hosted by visual artist Jeff Garbaz will utilize a site-specific screen installation which allows for the live mixing of lights to integrate the artist and the energy of the music". His work has graced the stages of numerous national festivals.

While the music is undeniably the best thing about RippleFest, the location has benefits few festival sites can boast. RippleFest is located between Dayton and Toledo immediately off Interstate 75 at exit 142, which provides for an easy arrival and departure.

Festival tickets include camping, parking, and two nights of music along with a welcome to fish on a stocked, three acre lake.

Tickets are available now – $45 in advance and $60 at the gate. The complete lineup, directions, camping guidelines, tickets, performance schedule and other details are available at www.ripplefest.com.
