Full Sail Welcomes Game Developer Billy Cain

Full Sail, a media arts college located in Florida, welcomes Billy Cain for the colleges continuing Artist Series.

(PRWEB) April 23, 2004--Videogame developer Billy Cain, Vice President of Critical Mass Interactive, will be the featured guest for the latest Artist Series event being held at Full Sails main campus on Friday, April 23rd. Produced by Full Sails School of Game Design & Development, this event is a chance for students to interact with a veteran game industry executive. The Artist Series will begin at 7:00pm.

Billy Cain has over 12 years of experience in the professional gaming industry, and has acted as both lead designer and producer on a number of best-selling titles for a variety of platforms. Cain has worked on such acclaimed PC titles as Wing Commander: Prophecy, and Abuse. His console output includes recent games like SpongeBob SquarePants: Revenge of the Flying Dutchman, and Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius, both released for the Sony Playstation 2 and Nintendo GameCube.

Billy Cain brings vast knowledge of the gaming industry to campus," says Rob Catto, Full Sails Program Director for Game Design & Development. The list of platforms he has developed for stretches back to the 16-Bit console era, and he has a long list of top shelf titles under his belt."

Full Sails Game Design & Development staff is committed to bringing creative artists like Billy Cain to campus, helping to bridge the gap between the industry and the classroom. Full Sail students are eager to speak with industry professionals who visit campus," says Rob Catto, Full Sails Program Director for Game Design & Development. One of the best ways to learn how to build a career in entertainment is to speak with someone who has already established their career. This will be a great learning experience for our students, as well as a great networking opportunity as they get ready to enter the industry.

In January of 2003 Full Sails Game Design & Development program was chosen by Electronic Gaming Monthly as one of the top 5 programs in the country.

Full Sails continuing Artist Series is designed to bring nationally recognized creative artists to Full Sail. The Artist Series events include on-stage interviews, performances, screenings and Q&A sessions for students and staff.
