Fluidata capitalises on the concept of an annual service charge: by focusing on this, with extra support options available, the company expects to persuade existing broadband users to switch to their products, as costs have been dramatically reduced, in some cases, by as much as 30% **. Fluidata also uses new technology in exchanges across the UK which enables it to offer some of its clients broadband services at twice the speed of normal transmission.
Current research indicates that two thirds of the SME (Small to Medium Enterprises) market dont have a broadband connection*, mainly because the current market is so confusing. Often, there are so many extra options and hidden costs, that customers are unsure about what they really need. Fluidata includes activation costs and other extras into one simple annual payment – with SDSL products incorporating costs such as a new dedicated line from BT. Alongside a plethora of connections, ranging from standard ADSL 512Kbps with a 50:1 contention to the top of the range SDSL (same speed both ways) 2,000Kbps with a 1:1 contention, the business offers enterprise hosting solutions at very low annual costs.
In addition, Fluidata expects to attract new customers with its provision of superior support options: its Plus+ package gives compensation in the unlikely event of line failure for more than 10 hours. This, along with a 24-hour support line, and a target fix of less than 5 hours, means that customers can be assured of a reliable service at all times, which, in the past, may have stopped companies switching to broadband.
