Portal to Underground Art World Opens to the Masses

To meet the demand of the emerging underground art scene, unCulture has been developed as a portal to peruse alternative artists work.

Chula Vista, CA (PRWEB) May 5, 2004 -- To meet the demand of the emerging underground art scene, unCulture has been developed as a portal to peruse alternative artists work. Prominent artists are crossing over into the worlds of fashion, animated television, film, music and toy design, having created many of the designs you see every day, bringing the trend into the mainstream. Popular new artist Josh Shag" Agle was commissioned by MGM studios to create the cover art for the 40th anniversary Pink Panther DVD collection. Takashi Murakamis pattern is featured in Louis Vuittons Spring 2003 line. Gary Baseman created the Emmy-award-winning, television-series-turned-film Teachers Pet." Mark Rydens artwork hangs in many celebrities homes, and graces many popular music album/CD covers. unCulture boasts the foremost web site dedicated to avant-garde artists and their work. Now everyone can explore underground artwork, and discover tomorrows superstars, in one place.

This alternative art movement is gaining momentum and the artists in this landscape are garnering considerable recognition. To keep up to date with emerging artists, unCulture provides a conservatory" to browse influential and up-coming underground artists, and an on-line shop full of limited-edition collectibles and off-the-wall curios. Featured in the on-line shop are designer toys" highlighted in Newsweeks March 1, 2004 Tip Sheet" as must-haves" for grown-up collectors, who will decorate everything from dorm rooms to desktops. Also available are T-shirts sporting imagery by Shag, Coop, Almera and others, as well as collectible books depicting the artwork of several new artists.

unCulture is an art portal where admirers can learn about alternative artists and gallery events. A California-based company, unCulture is committed to introducing up-coming and established artists, and to providing artist-designed curios and subculture lifestyle accessories to collectors everywhere. An extensive line of limited-edition underground collectibles and artist-endorsed merchandise is available in unCultures on-line shop. For more information, please visit www.unCulture.com.
