The G-Man's new album, "The Platinum Age of the Remix," features club-pleasing tracks from Michael Jackson's recording engineer, Matt Forger, and mixers from the USA, the EU, and Russia.
Los Angles, CA (PRWEB) May 17, 2004 -- In the worlds of electronica, dance, trance, and goth-industrial music, there is one new album that is being heard in clubs, on college radio and on commercial television: "The Platinum Age of the Remix" by The G-Man, released on Delvian Records and also available on Apple's iTunes.
"The Platinum Age of the Remix" (PAOTR) began with award-winning tracks from The G-Man's "Grin Groove" and "Electro Bop" albums (both nominated for "Electronica Album of the Year" from the L.A. Music Awards) as well as cuts from The G-Man's forthcoming album, "Sonic Tonic."
Tracks of songs by The G-Man were sent to remixers and DJs around the world, resulting in more than 60 remixes and generating countless hours of spinning in clubs and raves on four continents. A dozen of these tracks were selected for PAOTR, which is now the first CD to be nominated by the 2004 L.A. Music Awards, where it will compete for "Electronica Album of the Year."
"This is an unprecedented response to a new artist's work," states Brian Forest, production partner with Scott G, who records as The G-Man. "The nominations are exciting for everyone associated with G-Man Music and Delvian Records." ("Grin Groove" was a unanimous choice winner in 2002, "Electro Bop" was runner-up in 2003, and PAOTR is nominated this year.)
The PAOTR album features crowd-pleasing and sonically stimulating remixes by Matt Forger, F.Troy, DJ Insane, Random Distribution, and William Morosi. It is a unique collection that is getting college radio airplay in several genres:

Chill: "Surrender to the Sound"
Spaced-out: "Shari V"
The remixers all have exciting credits: Forger has worked with Michael Jackson, Paul McCartney, Eddie Van Halen, Giorgio Moroder, Keith Forsey, Harold Faltermeyer, and Quincy Jones on 16 Grammy-winning albums. F.Troy is a member of Mortal Loom, the electronic dance-ambient group who recently worked with Chris & Cosey and whose sounds are compared to BT, Coil, Vapourspace, Yello, and Art Of Noise. DJ Insane leads the DJ team known as The Allianz and spins throughout the EU from his home base in The Hague. Random Distribution is the most-respected creator of trance and electronic music in Russia. William Morosi, a classically-trained jazz pianist, has a style that is sometimes called "George Duke on acid."
"The response to these remixes has been phenomenal," Forest points out. "DJ Insane took a remix of a G-Man song to #5 on a European dance chart, while Random Distribution took a remix of a G-Man song to #1 on a Russian chart."
Scott G, who records under the name The G-Man, is the creator of the new genre of beat-oriented music called Grin Groove. He is also the owner of G-Man Music and Radical Radio in Los Angeles.
