First Annual Middle Earth Ball - 2 Gala Costume Extravaganzas Bring the Myth, Magic, and Romance of the Lord of the Rings Trilogy to Seattle this Spring

Seattle, WA (PRWEB) May 13, 2004 -- From the people who produced the famous Mythological Balls in years past comes the ultimate mythology and a great dance party. Producer Lee Robinson has teamed up with a group of incredible artists and designers to transform the 20,000 square foot Segway Space with fantastic sets that recreate some of the most famous scenes from Tolkiens Ring Trilogy for the first of three giant costume ball sarts fundraisers May 22 and June 5.

What:
The Middle Earth Ball is a fundraiser for artists and the art community, with proceeds benefiting Wing-it Productions, NW Cyber Artists, and the Fremont Arts Council (all 501C(3) non-profits). This is the first of a Trilogy of costume balls, with subsequent events to coincide with Halloween (Journey to Mordor, the scary side of Middle Earth) and New Years (Fest of Rohan, the jubilant celebration). What makes this event series especially unique is that each event has TWO shows, one for adults only and one for the all ages crowd, which typically doesnt get to take part in Seattles best parties.

Why:
Arts Fundraiser to encourage the celebration of community and traditional seasonal events in new and exciting ways.

Entertainment:
May 22:
Headlining the event are the PAPERBOYS, the hot Celtic stomp band from Canada. Also featured are the Geoffrey Castle Band (with former members of Guaneri Underground), the Afro-Cuban sound of Ancestor Radio, classical guitarist Andre Feriante, dark ambient grooves by DJ Osiris, visuals by VJ Pablo, plus folk sounds of Rickyleebob, Celtic harmonies by The Town Criers, fire performance by the Cirque de Flambe, and more.
June 5:
A LIVE DJ ALL AGES EVENT
featuring DJ Osiris & Michael Manahan, both of Oracle Gathering fame, The Rafe Pearlman Band, VJ Pablo, fire performance by Isis and company, and more to be announced. Features all the same great dramatic sets as the 21+ event, with non-alcoholic elixirs at the various bars. Attendees under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

More:
Attendees are an important element in creating the magic of the night! A court photographer will be on hand for all and the website includes costume resources to help get the creative juices flowing.
For further enticement, there will be a Costume Contest with prize money of $100 to the winners in each of three categories:
1) Most Elaborate, 2) Most Original, and 3) Most Daring!
Food, drink, and special elixirs will be available at 3 no-host bars.

May 22;The 21+ event, 7:30 to 2am
June 5;The All Ages event, 7:30 to 2am
