Southern Writer Now A Featured Columnist For The North Texas E-News

WASHINGTON, D.C. (PRWEB) May 13, 2004 -– Former East Tennessee native, Susan Reno-Gilliland – writer, photographer, artist, and proprietor of "A Southern Belles Life" – was recently added as a contributing columnist for the http://www.ntxe-news.com/ North Texas e-News.    Ms. Reno-Gilliland is writing a "Slice-of-Life" commentary for the newspaper, bringing a bit of humor, wit and southern charm to the tales she tells.

Tucked away on a 105 year old Victorian farm in what can be called the distant suburbs of the Nations capital, Ms. Reno-Gilliland uses the peaceful, pastoral setting far removed from the hustle and bustle of bumper-to-bumper Beltway traffic to nurture her creative muses in whatever form they may come.

In addition, Ms. Susan Reno-Gilliland, known to her friends as "Kitty," is also a professional interior designer, who owns and moderates a five-year old Internet newsgroup, "Interiors," originally conceived to support professional designers, as well as 'do-it-yourselfers,' looking for ideas, and the means to achieve the end results.     The newsgroup has expanded to a worldwide community of friends willing to share support, encouragement, expertise and, most of all, sincere friendship, in all things creative.

Ms. Reno-Gilliland has a B.A. in Fine Arts and a B.A. in Applied Arts-Journalism, with minors in Psychology and Sociology, and a B.A. in Interior Design.         She has been working professionally as a designer since 1995.     In 2002, Ms. Reno-Gilliland changed the focus of her design studio, and is strictly by appointment-only; mainly working through referrals from previous clients instead of actively marketing the studio's services.

In addition to her work as a writer and designer, Ms. Reno-Gilliland also offers decorating workshops to community and civic organizations, is active in several community and charitable activities -- most specifically breast cancer awareness and animal protection, rescue and adoption -- is a strong supporter of the Arts, has been published extensively in print and online publications, is currently working on her first two anthology books, and has been a featured speaker at public events and on several local/regional community television shows.         Ms. Reno-Gilliland also works with Realtors to assist their clients in preparing homes for sale.
