Robert Ettinger Associates, Consulting Engineers completes the first Green Building design on Roosevelt Island. Along with this achievement, the longstanding New York firm is celebrating it's 45th anniversary with the introduction of their new web-site and modifying the company name to Ettinger Engineering Associates.

This month marks a true landmark building design achievement for them with the completion of the first energy concious Green Building design on Roosevelt Island.
This is not the first Green Building design endeavor for Ettinger Engineering Associates, however it is the first of its kind on Roosevelt Island. The design of a 555,000 square foot, 500 unit, rental apartment building called the Octagon Park Apartments is a Green Building design that also refurbishes the existing landmark octagon structure. The design maintains the landmark status and aesthetic integrity of the original building. Green Building design is economical and plays a crucial role in energy conservation that ultimately adds to a healthier quality of living.
The developer and design architect for Octagon Park Apartments is Bruce Becker at Becker and Becker; consulting architect is Saky Yakas of SLCE; General Contractor is Gotham Construction.
