Mattison Fitzgerald of the San Francisco Bay Area and Italy's Simonies Palmieri's works of art have dissappeared and the FBI is investigating.
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) May 21, 2004 -- The artworks of American artist Mattison Fitzgerald of the San Francisco Bay Area and Italian artist Simonies Palmieri that were on exhibit at the International Biennale put on by Art Expo at Solaris Observatorio in Michochan, Morelia, Mexico have disappeared. The artists assume the art has been stolen and the FBI is investigating the matter.
Director Juan Pablo Arroyo states that "he does not know where the paintings are," and also stated that he has never seen them." Although it was Juan Pablo Arroyo who sent the Art Expo a wonderful image of Fitzgeralds works of a yellow stripe supporting the triptych 'Fuerza de Flores - Paz' or Power of the Flowers Peace to the Solaris Observatorio in Mexico. International Biennales Art Director Luca Cruci who has run all the exhibitions all over the world with new ones scheduled in the upcoming year says he " paid Juan Pablo for the safe keeping and return of the works." He further stated that he has never had a problem in the past with the return of artworks, or ethics in the past…this is a sad day for Mexico."
Fitzgerald is the kid who in San Franciscos Golden Gate Park taught the not then hippies" to make flower chains for their hair-- there was a photograph taken. Fitzgerald is distressed over the matter stated "You can't steal art, the essence, the love it is a curse on your soul when you steal what god has given the artists to give the people in beauty. It is simply bringing a curse to your family when you steal art". Simone Palmieri says "she wants her art back".
Fitzgerald paints about healing and flowers often her works spread a huge message of healing and goodness on the planet -- a message she got in a near death experience. Fitzgerald has also only recently regained all her ability to walk as the accident interrupted her art career for several years. Fitzgeralds paintings are 24" x 24" oil on canvas and valued at 100,000 Euros.
Simona Palmieri is an emerging international artist who paints and does film. Her works like those of Fitzgerald are sought after and both artists have been receiving much acclaim in their respective countries and beyond.
Fitzgerald also said "It is hard when a series of paintings on peace that I see as a message to the world from the American people is taken during a time of war. The paintings are meant to bring love and solace to people during a very emotional time."
