Los Angeles artist R. Hutcheson wondered if he could get people all over the world to see his painting of President Bush. Turns out he's doing it, thanks to an online art project devised and implemented by the artist.
(PRWEB) May 23 2004--"I've always wondered how many people end up seeing a work of art. Picasso made over 13,000 paintings, but how many people have seen them? Is it Millions, or even Billions?" asks Hutcheson.
"I decided to post the painting on my website, http://www.rhutcheson.com, and then send a link to it out in an e-mail to my mailing list. I asked people to look at the painting, and then pass the link on to others if they wished to do so. I wanted to see if I could get people all over the world to see this painting in just a few weeks. I decided to make the painting about President Bush because I felt that people all over the world would have an opinion about him, one way or another."
So far, so good. Within a few days thousands of people had already seen the painting, and the guest book has entries from the UK and Western Europe. There is word the link is being forwarded everywhere from Rome to Russia, and may literally end up at the end of the earth.
This isn't the first President R. Hutcheson has painted for comic effect. His painting of Ex-President Clinton entitled "Massage" was featured in "The Bill Clinton Show," at the Locus Media Gallery in New York City in 2003. He had seven paintings in a show at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art last year as well.
R. Hutcheson is hoping that people around the world take part in his online art project by visiting his website to see his painting of President Bush entitled "Enjoy Iraqi Cola." To see the painting, go to his website at:
