Second Saturday Art Walk: Sacramento Second Saturday Art Shows & Second Saturday Art Galleries in June, July & August 2004 - Scott West

Second Saturday Art Walk art shows in Sacramento for June, July & August 2004 Second Saturdays announced. Second Saturday Sacramento Artist Scott West will be showing at The Body Tribe (920 21st Street-Midtown Sacramento) and will also have a show on the same night at INSANE GALLERY (511 20th Street between E and F-Midtown Sacramento)on August 14th. Insane Gallery (open till 1 AM) is the late-night gallery to be after the other galleries close at 10 PM. West will show at Lush (2000 & I Street in mid town Sacramento) on June 12, 2004 for Second Saturday Art Walk and will continue his "Island" show with gallery dates in June (Javalicious & Lush) and July (B.T. Gallery & Plantation Gallery) in Elk Grove, California. West is working on his new "Shoes" show which will debut in August and September at Body Tribe Gallery, Insane Gallery, The Lugansk Gallery (Ukraine) and others. "Shoes" is a very exciting show with bright gigantic renderings of the classic Chuck Taylor high-top tennis shoes. West will have art featured by galleries in the Ukraine, St. Petersburg, Russia and Berlin later this year.

ELK GROVE (PRWEB) May 24, 2004 - Sacramento artist Scott West will be showing at The Body Tribe (920 21st Street) and at Insane Galleries (511 20th Street) on August 14th for the Second Saturday Art Walk. According to West, "The Body Tribe show in August is going to be over the top with challenging pieces by Phill Baldwin and Omar Thor Arason being orchestrated by Damon Eugene Rich. Any show that Damon directs is going to be first rate and I look forward to working with the very talented Damon, Omar and Phill. Damon is also going to show a very special oil and gold leaf piece at the Insane Gallery Show with me on August 14th."

West's peaceful style brings a pleasant nuance that holds its own with even the darkest artists and gallery shows. "His (West's) work, Flower In The Station, has the nostalgia of a modern-day Norman Rockwell as two lovers say goodbye under the train terminal's clock," according to Sacramento Bee columnist Nan Mahon.

West will be at Lush (2000 I Street in midtown Sacramento) for the June 12, 2004 Second Saturday Art Walk and will also be exhibiting two concurrent showings with pieces from his "ISLAND" show in July at Plantation Gallery and B.T.'s Place Gallery in Elk Grove, California from July 11th to August 12th.

West will continue his current showing at WEAVE WORKS Gallery (919 20th Street) in Sacramento through June 9th and will be having a special California showing at Javalicious in Rancho Cordova, California from June 10th through July 10th, 2004.

West new "SHOES" show that is slated for his August and September gallery dates will have its premiere at Insane Productions Gallery at 511 20th Street (20th Street between E & F in midtown Sacramento). West is also working on paintings to coincide with his new album release in December, which will be featured in his concert/art shows later this year. You can find out more about his band (Island West), music, concert dates and upcoming art-show/concerts at http://www.islandwestband.com

West's June and July showings will feature the following "ISLAND" show paintings:
Flower In The Station, Blue, Cliffs of Perouladhes, Boy In The Sky, Curious, Jars of Yantra, Ocean View, and House of Alberti. West's summer shows will also feature "ORANGE" and "Purple" from West's end-of-summer "SHOES" show. West's August and September shows will have more shoes pieces added to the mix.

I have only seen a few pieces from West's "SHOES" show, but they were amazing and utilized giant brightly colored canvasses.
