MyQPU.com was unveiled today as a uniquely entertaining way for camera-phone users to effortlessly forward images to other camera-phones, as well as being able to forward images to their private virtual albums.

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) May 25, 2004 –- http://www.myqpu.com was unveiled today as a uniquely entertaining way for camera-phone users to effortlessly forward images to other camera-phones, as well as being able to forward images to their private virtual albums. Just like other existing offerings, members can set up a private image exchange (PIX), which will usually be made up of a group of good friends, or family, or colleagues within an organization and store camera-phone images in an online virtual photo album. The unique variation on the theme is the innovative way in which any member of a PIX can instantly broadcast a newly taken image to all the other members of the same PIX (regardless of which network provider the other members of the PIX are connected to) by only sending the image once to the MyQPU server. This eliminates the hassles and limitations of typing in multiple e-mail addresses or phone numbers to send the images to other phones.

Users of the site purchase Image Forwarding Credits (IFCs) to forward their images to other members phones within their PIX and, to submit images to enter fun contests held by MyQPU and its strategic partners. The IFCs broadcast the images at a cheaper rate than sending an MMS via the mainstream network tariffs. MyQPU is offering a $10,000 cash Grand Prize for the image submitted that most represents what MyQPU is all about…Putting smiles on people faces!"

Camera Phones Gaining Worldwide Popularity

InfoTrends Research Group predicts almost 150 million camera phones will be sold in 2004, comprising slightly more than 25 percent of all cellular phone sales, according to its report 2004 Worldwide Camera Phone and Photo Messaging Forecast. Camera phones this year will generate 29 billion digital images.

Based on a compound annual growth rate of 55 percent, 656 million camera phones will be sold in 2008.

Although Japan now accounts for more than 50 percent of the world's camera phone sales, that will change this year as sales in other countries increase. The research firm forecasts that in 2004, boosted by camera phone sales in China, the "rest of the world" will generate more than half of the sales.

Many camera phone users have experienced the let-down of buying a new camera phone only to find out they can only share images with friends or family who have phones connected to the same network as themselves. Using MyQPU, not only can you send the images to your own private virtual album (your PIX), but you can also forward the image to any other picture phone within the senders PIX, regardless of which wireless network the recipients are connected to. You can even share pictures across the world at no extra cost.

And if thats not enough to satisfy your penchant for sending camera-phone images all over the place, users of MyQPU can also enter camera phone image contests to win fabulous prizes offered by MyQPU and its partners. MyQPU promises a camera phone image contest will be running every day of the year and fabulous prizes such as electronic equipment, casino hotel stays, and even cash are up for grabs, including the $10,000 cash prize being offered by MyQPU.

Its so much more fun than just having a place on the web to post an image, and you just cant put a price on fun.", stated Jim Meeker, President of QPU, LLC, the company that developed the MyQPU concept. We wanted to provide consumers with a uniquely different way to save and share images taken by camera phones while creating a fun-filled environment where you can also win great prizes for submitting images to camera-phone contests. Our partners have come up with some great camera-phone contest ideas, which will, we hope, put smiles on millions of faces"

"The whole driving force behind the development of MyQPU was to find as many ways as we could to put smiles on peoples faces" says Mark Roberts, CMO of MyQPU.com. Seeing a picture youve just taken on a camera-phone appear on a web-site is cool, but its now old hat and everyones doing it. Having the ability to instantly broadcast an image youve just taken on a camera-phone to all your friends at the push of a button is way more cool and is just great fun when you see it with your own eyes. Entering camera-phone contests and winning amazing prizes is just gonna blow peoples minds".

We are introducing a new currency into the American market place—IFCs…the Currency of Fun. Our entire site revolves around broadcasting images, entering fun contests, and putting smiles on peoples faces, all of which is delivered using this new currency"

Later this year, MyQPU will roll out a mobile video broadcasting service, along with other 3G technology based offerings that we promise will keep our members smiling".
