GenuineDoc to Release GenuineFile, a Copyright and File Integrity Protection Tool

Download this press release as an Adobe PDF document.

GenuineDoc today announces the availability of GenuineFile, a Windows based software that allows protecting copyright and verifying integrity of any digital records. The software introduces something similar to barcode for digital goods.

(PRWEB) May 26, 2004 -- GenuineFile works by creating a unique fingerprint of each file that it puts under protection. This fingerprint is added to GenuineFile database at http://www.genuinefile.com, together with information who created the fingerprint and when. When the same file is queried again, the software calculates the fingerprint again and uses it as a key to retrieve information about the author and creation date from GenuineFile database. Thus, an author of any original work can create a fingerprint of his or her work and be able to prove at a later time that he or she was first to access that work.

"GenuineFile introduces something like barcode in the digital world. Every file can be given a unique fingerprint, or a cryptographic hash, as tech people would say. Like ordinary barcode carries information about the manufacturer and the product, the file fingerprint carries information about the author of the file and the time it was registered in the GenuineFile database", said Tony Churyumoff, founder of GenuineDoc.

GenuineFile installs as Windows Explorer shell extension, which makes all actions available from right-click menu. The software runs on all current versions of Windows and is distributed free of charge.

Applications of GenuineFile include:
- copyright protection
- verifying integrity of downloaded files
- virus protection

For more information about this software, please refer to GenuineFile site: http://www.genuinefile.com .

About GenuineDoc
GenuineDoc is the first company to bring digital signatures on the web pages. GenuineDocs unique technology allows webmasters to digitally sign their web pages and thus ensure integrity of content on the pages and be able to prove to web users that such important documents as terms or press releases did exist on a particular date and were not edited since, neither by the webmaster himself wishing to silently add a controversial clause to the terms and conditions, nor by an intruder wishing to destroy company reputation. For more information about GenuineDoc, please visit the website: http://www.genuinedoc.com .

With the launch of GenuineFile, GenuineDoc expands its reach to all file formats, not just HTML pages published on the web.
