Ringtones Made Easy - Unwired Appeal launches ToneGuys Ringtones and the Adaptive Content Server (ACS)

Cutting-edge ACS technology allows cellphone users in North American to easily download ringtones, graphics, and java games at www.toneguys.com.

LONDON, UK (PRWEB) May 27, 2004 -- Unwired Appeal announced the launch of a new mobile content portal/website - www.toneguys.com - supplying ringtones, graphics, and java games to North American cell phone users.

At the core of the new service is the Adaptive Content Server (ACS), an innovative mobile content platform that automatically detects a cell phone's capabilities and optimizes mobile content before transferring it to the phone.

"We were looking for a way to make the customer experience more streamlined and user-friendly", recalls Keary Griffin, Unwired Appeal co-founder and director of technology. "Not everyone has their cell phone model number and capabilities written on the back of their hand. ToneGuys and ACS take the guess-work out by retrieving the information from the phone itself."

New users at ToneGuys receive a basic WAP-link that when accessed allows ACS to instantaneously retrieve and store the precise cell phone parameters. When a ringtone, graphic, or java game is later selected for download, users simply enter their phone number and ACS will locate, optimize, and transfer the content to their phone in seconds.

In additional website streamlining efforts, time-consuming membership sign-ups have also been scrapped and replaced with an optional procedure. "Who isn't tired of filling out long registration forms and remembering yet another username and password? ", asked Todd McKay, managing director at ToneGuys. "And what do companies do with all of that personal information? Its usually not for sending you a present on your birthday."

"The ToneGuys approach is vastly simplified", continued McKay, "Users enter only the information necessary to download their ringtone, game, or graphic - and it is entered only once. All other customer information-entry is optional."
