Avoiding common mistakes while taking advantage of best practices in business, including marketing, can make the difference between small business success and failure. Free one-hour teleseminar for small business owners and managers discusses the most common errors and how to avoid them, as well as provide tips for growth and success.

Peabody, MA (PRWEB) June 1, 2004 –- Possibilities@Work and Market-Vantage will host a free one-hour teleseminar on June 9th from 1pm-2pm Eastern entitled, Small Business Strategies for Growth." The purpose of the teleseminar is to help small business owners grow their businesses profitably while avoiding costly mistakes.

There are many common errors that small businesses make," said Ellen Kaplan, president of Possibilities@Work, a business advisory firm for owners of small technology and service businesses.

According to a recent Small Business Administration statistic 75 percent of businesses with employees make it past their second year and only half of those are operational after their fourth year. This percentage does not reflect companies without employees, which have a much lower success rate. The reasons for the failures vary. However, there are several common contributing factors that affect the probability of survival.

The teleseminar will start with a discussion of the most common missteps that growing companies make, as documented in Ellens recently published report, Eight Mistakes That Could Stunt Your Business Growth." Teleseminar registrants will receive a copy of the report at no charge.

Ellen will also describe a number of great ideas that help small businesses to grow. Small business managers/owners who attend will:
*   Become aware of the common pitfalls of running a small business
*   Learn what steps you can take to avoid these problems
*   Identify actions that will contribute to a profitable and sustainable business
*   Understand the relationship between revenue and profit
There will also be time at the end for questions and answers.

To participate, you must register for this teleseminar in advance at http://www.market-vantage.com/seminar .
