"A River of Seasons" has been released by PublishAmerica of Maryland. This is the second in a series of three books on what life was like back in the time of the big timber camps.

(PRWEB) June 5, 2004 -- "A River of Seasons" by Northern Minnesota author Ron Shepherd has been released and is sure to be a big success in adventure reading. The book is written in the style and voice of the old Minnesota storytellers and fashioned after the tales told around the campfire, back in the time of the big timber camps.

The first book "The River Calls" was released last year and became an overnight success with several good reviews. Both of these books invite the reader to share a life they can only dream of. Life on the Bigfork River was hard, but there always seemed to be enough time to laugh. Things like the smell of homemade bread baking in the cookstove and the sound of wolves at night take the reader back several years to a place where life was hard and family was the only thing that really mattered.

One can imagine old Wil Morgan coming into the cabin on the river in December with frost and snow in his beard, the family's Christmas tree dragging behind him. The children's eyes sparkle with anticipation of holiday gifts and treats. If you listen carefully, you can almost hear them singing as they trim the tree.

Ron Shepherd is a long time Minnesota resident and a writer of many years. He is an avid outdoorsman and a painter in oils and has paddled nearly every river in Minnesota's Arrowhead region.

The third book in the series is "River Chase" yet to be published. The first two books can be seen at www.ronshepherd.com and purchased at fine booksellers worldwide.
