The original Rude girl releases her 3rd album "Platinum Edition" to rave reviews...
(PRWEB) June 4, 2004--A pioneer in her genre, Ivy Queen's ascend to her throne was not an easy climb. In 1995 she joined one of the first groups to ever begin the fusion of stateside sounds and Puerto Rican influences to what is being labeled today offically as the new genre "Reggaetton". Ivy being the first woman to join such a group thus many considering Ivy as a pioneer in her own right.
But it wasn't till 1996, when Ivy launched her solo career with the album ‘En Mi Imperio that she began catching the interest of many in the music industry. This album offers collobrations from many of todays most prolific producers and writers as Domingo Quiñones, DLG, Alex D Castro, Cuco Peña and Sergio George, the creative force behind DLG and a great contributor to the music of the late Queen of Salsa, Celia Cruz.
In 1998, after acquiring fans throughout Puerto Rico and Latin America, Sony Discos signed the artist to their label and released ‘The Original Rude Girl. This album featured the duet In The Zone", with Wyclef Jean, founding member of ‘The Fugees, broadening Ivys artistic reach to a whole new fan base. Ivy Queen was now the reigning Queen of Reggeton." From the United States to Mexico and Spain, from Panama to the Dominican Republic, she became the female leader and the spokesperson for woman empowerment in the genre.
Her constant battle to bring light to this genre commercially took years of tribulations, but those struggles paid off with the incredible success of her 3rd album "Diva". To follow the success of "Diva" she recently release "Diva, Platinum Edition".
In "Diva Platinum Edition", the Puerto Rican Diva brings contagious rhythms and more, with her greatest hits "Papi te quiero", "Tú no puedes" and "Quiero bailar". The album features 22 tracks including "Tuya Soy", "Guillaera", "Alerta", "Venganza", "Bailamé", "Subeló" and remixes like "Babe", "Papi te quiero" and "Tú no puedes".
As her fan based continued broadening she caught the eye of Jamaican reggae singer Sacha. Ivy was invited and recently visited New York to join Sacha in the recording studio and recorded a track for the Jamaican sensations upcoming album.
