Membership Skyrockets For Multi-Cultural Web Portal

EbonyIvoryMe.com is a worldwide online forum where people of multi-cultural/interracial interests can meet, discuss and share their thoughts, feelings and experiences about love, life, embracing/celebrating our differences.

(PRWEB) June 8,2004 -- EbonyIvoryMe.Com (EIME), a multi-cultural web portal that promotes racial harmony, is preparing to unveil a national grass roots campaign designed to promote increased awareness of cultural and racial diversity. With a membership that has ballooned over 55% in the past six months, EIME is quickly becoming an online voice for multi-racial people and interracial couples and families.

Sharon Bond, Founder of EIME, is adamant about the importance of this type of online community.

"I have friends who are curious about black culture or other cultures and are afraid or embarrassed to ask. After searching the worldwide web for a community that would allow me to bond and relate with people who are in relationships outside of their race or are interested in starting new relationships, I came up empty-handed. This idea formulated in my mind when my four year-old niece asked my sister, "What color I am mommy?"

The web-site's basic premise is to provide a vibrant destination for its members to voice their opinions, interact with each other and access a world of information and services relevant to living in a multi-ethnic society. Targeting a core audience of 18-26 year olds, EIME is launching an aggressive campaign of radio spots, newspaper ads, and flyers to get the word out that an online community exists where people of any ethnicity can meet and mingle.

EbonyIvoryMe.com offers Free Membership, with features like Rate Me (Hot Or Not!), free email accounts, chat rooms and message boards where members can express their thoughts and experiences about diversity. Members can also showcase their artwork, catch up on the latest news, and be informed on topics of race and multiculturalism.

"The website is not about culture or ethnic divide, which is why it is named EbonyIvoryMe. It represents all ages and shades of Ebony and all ages and shades of Ivory - no matter what stem of nationality you may derive from. "Me" is the blended fruit of interracial harmony in unity."
Bond is pleased with the overwhelming success of her innovative vision. "When we all come together simply as people, not as colors, it demolishes all racial barriers."
